How does Maurten impact dental health?

All Maurten products are made without colors or preservatives and close to pH neutral. The original concept of Maurten Gel was also to use hydrogel technology to encapsulate the carbohydrates to minimize interaction with the
teeth.
What is Hydrogel?
Hydrogels are three-dimensional networks of hydrophilic polymers with a high water content that is biocompatible. We used this to our advantage when we discovered a highly effective way to build hydrogels with alginate (seaweed) and pectin (fruit fiber) that encapsulate the most efficient source of energy around — carbohydrates. The two key components, alginate and pectin, create a protective hydrogel structure that efficiently transports carbohydrates through the stomach to the intestine, where the hydrogel dissolves, and the body can absorb the carbohydrates.
Patented Maurten Hydrogel Technology enables us to increase the amount of carbohydrates available as fuel. Hydrogel Technology reduces the risk of gastrointestinal problems that arise when loading the stomach with traditional sports fuels and unnecessary ingredients like colorants, preservatives, and artificial flavors, that do not aid performance.
